Today was a great day, and it went a little something like this:

I woke up early to make the kids’ lunches and drive one of them to school.

My business day started with a fund raising breakfast where I knew some business colleagues and meet new people with great energies. Then I was off to pick up an elderly lady to go visit a couple residences.  We shared great conversations, and some laughs. I left her filled with thoughts about choosing a place, moving and selling her house.  Big thoughts, enormous even.  These visits, showed her light at the end of the tunnel as the maintenance of the house is becoming  too much.

A quick bite to eat, and then it was time to pick up my next client to go visit a residence that would meet his and his wife’s’ specific needs.  From watching him fill out some paperwork, putting on his shoes, speaking with his wife,  driving with him in the car, to visiting the residence and sharing some jokes — I loved every minute.  I loved seeing the happiness on his face when he saw a step in shower that would ease his daily routine and the twinkle in his eye when he was told he could have a glass of wine with dinner every night!  At the end of our time together he was certainly fatigued, but filled with hope that there are solutions out there.  It is such a privilege for me to be there for seniors and their families at such a delicate stage in life and to share these precious moments with them.

On a day like today, it is like seeing an amazing movie where I feel every emotion and come out exhilarated.  I love these types of days, the ones that challenge me, that encourage me to use every corner of my brain and that surround me with beautiful people at different stages of life. (Today my range of ages was from 11 to 89 and everything in between!)
